Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about Scentsy.  If your question is not listed below please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Q:  What kind of wax is used when making Scentsy Bars & Bricks?
A:  Scentsy uses a custom, food-grade paraffin wax blend.  It is designed for a specific scent-load & melt-point.

Q:  What kind of oil does Scentsy use in its products?
A:  Key fragrance oil.

Q:  How much of a Scentsy Bar do I use at a time?
A:  Do not place the entire bar in your Scentsy warmer at one time. One to two sections is sufficient for an average sized room.  If using a plug-in Scentsy warmer use 1/2 to one section.

Q:  How long will the scent last?
A:  One Scentsy bar will last between 60-80 “on” hours.  It depends on which scent you have & how often you leave your warmer on.  Citrus scents are more on the 60 hour end, followed by vanilla/bakery smells, with musky type scents lasting the longest.

Q:  How hot does the wax become?
A:  The wax is heated to 125 degrees when used with the correct bulbs, which is the temperature of a typical paraffin wax cosmetic dip.  The wax will not burn children or pets.

Q:  How do I clean the wax out of my warmer?
A:  Turn the Scentsy warmer on to melt the wax. Pour the melted wax into the original container for reuse or, if there is no scent left, into a disposable container to discard.  Wipe out the warmer lid with a paper towel.  If using a plug-in Scentsy warmer, heat the wax for 2-3 minutes, peel the wax out & wipe with a paper towel. Scentsy spatulas are also available to assist in wax removal.

Q:  Where do I get a replacement lightbulb?
A:  Scentsy full-size warmers use a 25watt light bulb, mid-size warmers use a 20watt light bulb, & plug-in warmers use a 15watt light bulb.  These light bulbs can be found in any home improvement store.  If you have a hard time finding them you can purchase them for $1.00 on the website or contact me for my specials on light bulbs.

Q:  How much is shipping?
A:  Shipping costs are different for the US & Canada, and shipping on all orders over $150 is free.  View the Shipping Page to see detailed shipping costs.

Q:  Does Scentsy ship to other countries besides the US, it’s territories & Canada?
A:  Not at this time.  However, Scentsy can ship to certain APO or AFO addresses.  If you are in the military with an APO or AFO address, simply contact me with your zip code & I will be able to tell you if Scentsy will ship directly to you.

Q:  How often does Scentsy come out with a new catalog?
A:  Twice a year…once in the spring (March) and once in the fall (September).

Q:  How often does Scentsy discontinue items and why does Scentsy discontinue them?
A: Twice a year before the new spring & fall catalogs are released.  Scentsy brings new & refreshing warmer styles & scents to their customers in each new catalog.  In order to do this Scentsy must make room by discontinuing some products.

Q:  What do I do if my favorite scent was discontinued?
A:  You can contact me directly to see if I have your scent in stock.  Consultants are not allowed to post their inventories on their websites to allow equal opportunities for both new & established consultants.   If I do not have your scent or can not find it, Scentsy also has a “Bring Back My Bar” campaign that is presented in January & July of each year.  During these months the top 20 most voted for discontinued scents are brought back.   Consultants & Customers alike may vote for their favorite discontinued scents at during the voting periods.  These are usually in April & October.  You can also visit the “Bring Back My Bar” page for more information.

Q:  How much are Scentsy Catalogs?
A:  Most consultants are very happy to send or deliver a catalog for free.  If you need a catalog, please feel free to contact me for one today. If you are thinking about becoming a consultant, consultants purchase catalogs in a 50 pack for $16.00.  That is 32 cents per catalog.

Q:  How can I buy Scentsy?
A:  Scentsy is purchased through an independent Scentsy consultant.  You can purchase online here at, or contact me directly for assistance   I would love to be your Scentsy consultant.

Q:  What forms of payment does Scentsy accept?
A:  A local consultant can accept cash, check, or credit card.  If ordering online you will be required to pay by credit card.

Q:  Does Scentsy offer any discounts?
A:  Yes!  Scentsy offers the warmer & scent of the month promotion at a 10% discount. Close out items are discounted.  And, Scentsy offers most products at a 10% discount in the months of February & August, to prepare for the new catalogs.  Individual consultants can offer their own personal discounts, but may not post these on their websites.   These promotions & discounts can only be given through customer contact.

Q:  Does Scentsy do parties?
A:  Yes, Scentsy is a party plan company.  You can earn half-price items & free product simply by having a party.  You can do a home party, a catalog party, an online party, or do a fundraiser.

Q:  Can I sell Scentsy & how can I become a consultant?
A: Yes, anyone that is a United States or Canadian citizen and those residents in the UK, Ireland, & Germancy can sell Scentsy.   Visit the Join Scentsy page to read more information about becoming a consultant & view FAQ related to joining Scentsy.
